“For if we have been
united together in the likeness of this death, certainly we also shall be in
the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified
with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer
be slaves of sin...Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also
live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no
more. Death no longer has dominion over
Him. For the death that He died, He died
to sin once for all but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise, you also, reckon yourselves to be
dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”-Romans 6:5-6,
8-11
What a wonderful
cross! Jesus, thank you for the
crucifixion and resurrection on the cross that lead to victory! Thank you Lord, for death has lost its sting,
and for the eternal life in you!
Thank you Jesus, for
the crucifixion on the cross, and nailing my sins there, so I can be freed from
being slaves to sins! Lord, show me
anything in my life that I need to bring to you to be nailed on the cross, and
grant me the faith as I am continuously learning to surrender to your way
throughout the life journey. Jesus,
guide me to live in freedom from sin, as one who is “crucified with [you]; it
is no longer I who live, but [you] live in me.” (Galatians 2:20).
Thank you Lord for
uniting me with you not only in death, but also in the resurrected life in you
(Romans 6:5)! Thank you for the hope of
salvation that is offered to mankind.
Therefore, lead me to live this new life in you with the counsel of the
Holy Spirit. Lord, may your presence
replace those aspects of life that I need to let go of, and draw me closer to
you.
Lord, teach me to walk
in your way continuously, as one who is alive in you. Thank you for the gift of eternal life! Help me to make room in life, so I can ‘be
filled with all of [you fully]’ (Ephesians 3:19). Lord, lead me to live with you and let the
power of the Holy Spirit fills my life.
Jesus, thank you for
the power of the cross! Let you be the centre and the source of my life. Give me the courage to let go of parts of me
that do not align with your way, and to allow you to direct me to follow your
path.
